Su Valley Hockey Team wins first in 2 years

The Su Valley High School Hockey Team celebrated their first win in 2 years on Thursday night.
Coach Jack MacDonald said the team played the best game they could have played. They beat rival Monroe Catholic 6 to 2, after previously losing to that team earlier this season, 8 to 3.
On Friday, they were pitted against number one seed, Glenallen. MacDonald says they played incredibly hard the first period, but the previous night’s game took its toll and the adrenaline faded in the second period and the team lost. Glenallen plays this weekend in the championship games.
Last weekend was the final games for this season for the team. Several of the players have been invited to play on a youth hockey team in the lower Valley. MacDonald says he is now busy coaching the smaller youth of the Upper Valley and won’t have time to help the high school students practice, but wishes them luck as they continue practicing and playing games in the lower valley.
MacDonald says he is excited for next year when THIS season’s almost-all-sophomore team will be juniors. He is betting the wins will come easier.
Coach MacDonald has a new look after the big win. MacDonald says he had promised the players if they won a game they could cut his now infamous hair. Each of the 16 players took a whack at the hair and he said he decided to go all the way and shave off the mustache and beard as well.
