by Sue Deyoe ~ October 4th, 2009

Yes, that was an earthquake that shook the upper valley Sunday morning at 3:22.  It was enough of a jolt to awaken some residents. According to the Earthquake Information Center in Fairbanks, the earthquake had a preliminary magnitude of 4.05 and was measured at a depth of 60 miles.  It was centered just 13 miles southwest of Skwentna, 55 miles southwest of Talkeetna and 73 miles northwest of Anchorage.  The center received no reports of injury or damage.
