Memories of Mining and Trapping: Eleanor Trepte Martin
by Charlie Loeb ~ October 5th, 2009
Host Holly Stinson visits with Eleanor Trepte Martin, who arrived in Alaska as a six- year-old in 1927. She and her mother Margueritte made their way to Susitna Station and eventually ended up in Talkeetna when her mother married Mike Trepte. Eleanor recalls mining in the Dutch Hills during the summer, and trapping along the Yentna River in the winter. Audio runs about a half hour.
