Sunshine Transit makes cuts to scheduled van service

Sunshine Transit has had to make needed cuts in their afternoon service.  The group is trying to act fast to make changes necessary to keep the service running.  This story changed from its original run on Thursday’s noon broadcast.

BLUE MOON— The almost full moon sets near Mt. Hunter shortly before the sun rose on this last day of 2009. The moon reaches its fullest tonight and as the second full moon this month, a blue moon. It is a rare occasion that the blue moon coincides with the beginning of a new year. This last occurred in 1990.

The move into the new Su Valley Junior/Senior highschool building is coming along. Furniture arrived this week and is being unpacked and assembled. Bob Bechtold  is one of the Mat-Su Borough’s project managers and explains the unique features of the new school building.

Snowmachiner charged in vehicle accident

aired tues -  Alaska State Troopers responded to an accident on December 18th at the corner of Main Street and the Talkeetna Spur Road in downtown Talkeetna.

A snowmachine ran into the driver’s side of a green Subaru driven by Amanda Randles of Talkeetna.  However, the driver fled the scene before Troopers arrived.  (more…)

Taveau wins Montana Creek Dog Mushers point races

The last point race of the Montana Creek Dog Mushers Association took place last Saturday, December 26, crowning a new and old champion in the open class with Knik’s Christian Taveau. Taveau managed to catch up to Daryl Hollingsworth’s lead during the first two point races and bested Hollingsworth in the Saturday’s race. Placing third in Saturday’s race as well as in the overall point race standing is Willow’s Greg Sellentin. (more…)
