Curry ski train planned for Oosik weekend

Search continues for missing Katmai floatplane

Monday, August 30, 2010The barn at Birch Creek Ranch had a few visitors of the short-tailed weasel variety. Robin Song got some photos and a story to tell for this week’s locally produced Earth and Beyond program. We find out more about least weasels and short-tailed weasels, commonly called ermine when they are in their winter coats of white. Audio is about 7 minutes.

Ober arrested for criminal trespassing
Monday, August 30, 2010Alaska State Troopers arrested 29-year old Aaron Ober last Thursday night at the Talkeetna Village Park for criminal trespassing. Troopers say he was intoxicated and created a disturbance at the park. Ober was taken to the Mat-Su pretrial facility and arraigned in Palmer court. Earlier this month, Ober was arrested twice in one week for being drunk and fighting in the park. Back then, he was arrested and told not to return to the village park. When he did return last Thursday night, he was placed under arrest and charged. His bail is set at $500.
