The “Su Valleyball Invitational” volleyball tournament kicked off on Friday with a victory for the local Su Valley Rams.The tournament is back after a three-year hiatus because of a lack of a ball court after the old high school burned down. On Friday and Saturday, the Su Valley Rams are hosting varsity teams from Tok, Ninilchik, Lumen Christi of Anchorage and Nenana at the new Su Valley High School gym.

The Rams won the opening round playing Tok on Friday afternoon. Six teams were invited, but the Tri-Valley players from Healy couldn’t make it to Talkeetna because of weather and transportation problems.
