Winds caused power outages in Mat-Su

Strong winds gusted with up 87 mph in the Matanuska valley and interrupted power supply to hundreds of residents in the Mat-Su Borough. Borough officials report that there are 65 homes without power. The Red Cross opened two emergency shelters on Wednesday night, but they had no visitors seek refuge.
