The Mat Su Borough has announced a new Community Development Manager.

The former director of the State division of parks and recreation, James King, has been hired by the Borough to direct the department that oversees library services, community enrichment programs, parks and trails and Borough owned lands. (more…)

The state’s Division of Oil and Gas at Department of Natural Resources has taken to heart the comments concerning the Susitna Basin Exploration Licenses.  The area, west of the Susitna River and south of Petersville Road, including the Yentna and Kahiltna Rivers came under scrutiny for possible gas exploration. March is Red Cross month and local organization is looking for help.  Fires in the last few weeks have kept the Red Cross busy; more workers are needed to help in times of disaster.
