Talkeetna receives FAA’s 150th webcam

I CAN SEE FOR MILES - The FAA has installed its 150th webcam in Alaska at the Talkeetna state airport.

On Friday afternoon, the Federal Aviation Administration unveiled their 150th webcam installed in Alaska which just happens to be at the Talkeetna Airport.  Pilots around Alaska are cheering the technology which is helping reduce accidents across the state.

Talkeetna shows lowest immunization rates in Alaska

Health care providers in the upper valley have started a task force to deal with what they say are alarmingly low rates of immunization in children in the area. There are more than 2 sides to the story, but in this first installment of several reports, health providers talk about the concern.

In 2009, the Parks Highway, from the Chulitna River bridge to Fairbanks, became a national scenic byway.

Now the state of Alaska is planning a master interpretive plan for the stretch of highway from milepost 132 to Fairbanks. (more…)
