Two home deaths of long time Talkeetna residents occurred this past weekend.
Gene Jenne, age 81, passed away peacefully in his home on Friday.
Jenne owned and operated Three Rivers Laundromat and gas station in downtown Talkeetna with his wife, Rose, for years. He was a well-known, and a well respected community member that everyone will remember fondly. Gene did a number of things for the community behind the scenes that not everyone was aware of — he was known as a person with a big heart that did a lot for the community.
The family is planning a memorial service that will be announced to the community soon.

Alaska State Troopers responded to a call on Sunday afternoon about a deceased family member on Barge Road near Talkeetna. Troopers said Anna Pratt, age 57, died at her home Sunday. No foul play is suspected.
Pratt was also a long time member of the community. Her children attended and graduated from Su Valley High School and were well known top athletes. She and her husband were both formerly real estate agents in Talkeetna. She was recently on the list to be interviewed for the position of Talkeetna Historical Museum curator.
