The body of 47 year old John Gamble of Wasilla was located yesterday (thurs) in the Petersville area. The body was recovered late yesterday by search teams that had been looking for him for the last several days.
Gamble has been missing since early July. His friends last saw him July 2nd when they left him at a mining camp near Cache Creek. Eleven days passed before Gamble was reported missing. He was expected to return to work on July 18th.
His truck was found stuck on a trail near Dollar Creek almost a week ago. Gamble’s personal items that would have normally been carried with him were in the truck.
His body was located approximately one and a half miles away from the vehicle. Troopers report no signs of trauma or foul play. An autopsy is being conducted to determine the cause of death
State troopers, Alaska state park rangers, Helo One and many others were involved in the ground and air search to find Gamble.
