The newest care provider to take on a rotation at Sunshine Clinic is Doctor Joan Friderici. She’s been seeing patients since July. Dr. Friderici came in to the KTNA studios for a chat with another newcomer, KTNA’s Lorien Nettleton, to share some of her perspectives and experiences.

Board of Game Proposals approach Comment Deadline

The Alaska Department of Fish and Game is reviewing proposed changes to the Board of Games regulations and guidelines for a variety of management and harvesting policies. The Board will meet the week of January 13th to discuss the proposed changes and adopt approved measures. Public written commentary is open until December 30th, and in-person comments will be heard at January’s meeting. (more…)

Jessica Stevens Foundation meets the challenge

The Jessica Stevens Community Foundation has reached its fundraising goal for 2011 to qualify for a Rasmuson Challenge Grant. The Foundation had targeted a goal of fifteen-thousand-dollars raised before years-end in order to receive an additional fifteen-thousand dollars from Rasmusson. The Stevens Foundation has met that goal, and Ruth Wood says the Rasmusson funds will either be rolled into the Annual Spring Grant cycle and distributed with other funds, or it might be used as a special granting opportunity in 2012.
