Dupre scraps solo attempt
by Lorien Nettleton ~ January 10th, 2012
Adventurer Lonnie Dupre has scrapped his second attempt to summit Mt. McKinley alone in the Month of January, and is making his way back down the mountain. After being pinned down by brutal weather for 7 days in a snow cave at 14-thousand feet, Dupre acknowledged that waiting for a break in the storm would leave him without enough supplies to make the push for the summit. He began descending on Sunday, and expects to reach the Kahiltna Glacier today.
