KTNA’s 20th Anniversary audio-The Landing, by Ken Marsh
by Deborah Brocke ~ February 1st, 2013
KTNA is celebrating 20 years of broadcasting to the Upper Susitna Valley with audio from our archives. We’re sharing the past with you every Friday at 12:30.
Today we hear from Trapper Creek historian and author Ken Marsh, who wrote and voiced a series of local history pieces called There’s a River Between Us. He later published the pieces as a book. In this segment, Ken shares the history of The Landing, which was the first stop for miners and pioneers headed from Talkeetna across the Susitna River to the Cache Creek mining district and other points west. Audio runs about 6 minutes.
