KTNA Anniversary Audio-the closing of the old Trapper Creek Post Office

KTNA is celebrating 20 years of broadcasting to the Upper Susitna Valley with audio broadcast during the past two decades.

This week’s audio is¬† a news story about the end of an era in Trapper Creek, the closing of Mike Carpenter’s Trapper Creek Post Office, from late summer of 1997. KTNA news producer Johanna Eurich had the story:

Trapper Creek residents and travelers are still able to experience the ambiance of the old post office by visiting Wal-Mike’s, along the Parks Highway¬† in Trapper Creek. Mike Carpenter still presides there over his emporium of treasures.
