Over 150 people gathered to say goodbye to Jay Hudson on Saturday. The parking lot was packed. The line of vehicles extended past the Latitude 62 all the way into downtown. The Talkeetna Bachelor Society held their annual Wilderness Woman contest; the PTA drew artists, shoppers and droves of kids to the Talkeetna Elementary School for a holiday bazaar; a chili contest behind the Fairview Inn watered the mouths of wilderness woman contest spectators as they warmed near the bonfire. And at night, women donning their finest, navigated in high heels to the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar to the centerpiece of the day’s festivities, the Talkeetna Bachelor Auction and Ball.
