The Alaska Department of Fish and Game is reviewing proposed changes to the Board of Games regulations and guidelines for a variety of management and harvesting policies. The Board will meet the week of January 13^th to discuss the proposed changes and adopt approved measures. ANCHORAGE – National Aviation Day is observed on August 19^th each year to celebrate the history and development of aviation. It coincides with the birthday of Orville Wright, who made the first sustained, powered flight on December 17, 1903 in a plane he and his brother Wilbur built. This twelve-second flight led to the development of the first practical airplane in 1905, and launched worldwide efforts to build better flying machines. (more…)

The Mat Su Borough has released their revised draft of the Five Year Timber Harvest Schedule for public comment.

The first draft had errors that have been corrected. The first schedule did not contain timber within operable timber areas as required by the Borough’s Natural Resource Management Units Plan. (more…)
