Last week, about 2 dozen people in the Upper Valley got a chance to take a course in birch bark basket weaving from a silviculturist. John Zasada was visiting from northern Minnesota’s North House Folk School and gave two one day courses in the art of using birch bark. Sue Deyoe spoke with him about his second career..

The Moose on Parade and auction held a pleasant surprise for Talkeetna non-profits as a mystery donor helped raise more than $4,000 during the annual event.
