Principal Rob Picou gave his resignation this spring after being hired as the new superintendent for Bering Straits school district.  Reese Everett from Houston has been hired as the new Su Valley Jr./Sr. High School principal and spoke about his new job, his family and philosophy on the kids.

The Upper Valley is slated to bring the Build A Plane project to the Talkeetna Airport this fall.  The project is complicated and involves businesses and the aviation community along with the involvement of students.  ***the date for the introduction of the project has been changed to May 5th at 7 pm at the Roadhouse, not the 4th as runs in the story below.

The U.S. News and World Report has just published their list of best high schools in the nation.  Su Valley ranks with 1,1189 others in the bronze category.  Sue Deyoe explains the methodology used.

The Su Valley temporary high school portables are on the move.  Residents driving along the Parks Highway may see the portables moving south along the highway the next several days. (more…)
