Talkeetna’s Airport Improvement project may not happen this summer

About a month ago, Talkeetna residents received a Talkeetna Airport Improvement project flyer in their mail box. It outlines the entire improvement project in stages.  It answers general questions and gives a hazy timeline.  But the controversial project continues to have lack of funding.

Talkeetna receives FAA’s 150th webcam

I CAN SEE FOR MILES - The FAA has installed its 150th webcam in Alaska at the Talkeetna state airport.

On Friday afternoon, the Federal Aviation Administration unveiled their 150th webcam installed in Alaska which just happens to be at the Talkeetna Airport.  Pilots around Alaska are cheering the technology which is helping reduce accidents across the state.

Farewell Jay, we'll miss you

Over 150 people gathered to say goodbye to Jay Hudson on Saturday. The parking lot was packed. The line of vehicles extended past the Latitude 62 all the way into downtown.  At the graveside service, a small hot air balloon was launched and 6 Talkeetna planes flew in formation above the ceremony in a touching send off to a man who touched thousands in his lifetime.

Two dozen people gathered at the Talkeetna Elementary school Monday night to discuss the latest Talkeetna Airport Improvement plans.  In late March, the Talkeetna Community Council received a DOT Airport Improvement document for comment.
