The Denali Arts Council’s Board of Directors have hired a new executive director. Joellen Bye signed a contract Friday and started today in her new position. The E-D position was vacated by Mindy Lindgren at the end of February.
According to the Board, Bye was hired for her excellent administrative and grant writing abilities.
Bye is from Indiana and worked for the state of Indiana. Her connection to Talkeetna runs deep. She is Pam Rannals sister and has been visiting Talkeetna since 1987. Last summer she moved to Talkeetna permanently and built a house here.
Bye will work 25 hours a week at the Sheldon Community Arts Hanger.
