**Karen Mannix received a statewide award** honoring her 20 years of achievements in physical education in the [Mat-Su school district](http://www.matsuk12.us/17331031917448873/cwp/browse.asp?a=3&BMDRN=2000&BCOB=0&c=68566&ref=ktna.org). The award was given to Mannix last week at the annual convention of physical education professionals in Wasilla.
