SUMMARY:“Making the Audible Visible” Painting Class - Denali Arts Council
DESCRIPTION:Denali Arts Council is offering a two-day improvisational “Live Art” painting workshop with Denise Iacovone (“E-ya-ka-vone-ay”).  The “Making the Audible Visible” Painting Class focuses on improvisational art and runs in conjunction with the Talkeetna Jazz Workshop. The first meeting takes place during the jazz workshop dress rehearsal on Thursday July 3rd from 4:30-7:30pm. The second meeting is at the final concert on Saturday July 5th from 6 to 8:30pm. DESCRIPTION:There is a fundraising event for Denali Rescue Volunteers at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar on Saturday\, June 7th at 7pm. Roger Robinson presents Denali South Buttress Climbs\, as a tribute to Denali’s volunteer rescue legacy. Talkeetna’s Roger Robinson will recount his 1975 climb of Denali’s remote South Buttress—a journey that launched his 45-year career in the Alaska Range. The talk includes rare photos and audio from the original 1954 ascent and rescue and Denali’s first helicopter evacuation. There will be door prizes and donations are welcome at the door.
