Tolen sentenced for 7 years

Wasilla’s Aaron Tolen, one of the 4 people originally associated with the Talkeetna-area Halloween robberies of October 2007 has been sentenced to 7 years in prison.

Tolen was originally connected to the Halloween robbery case last fall, but was cleared of any robbery charges. Alaska State Troopers, while investigating the robbery, found evidence of items stolen from area homes. Tolen, along with his acquaintance, Michael Wilson, were charged with over 60 counts each of burglary, tampering with evidence, assault, criminal mischief and criminal possession of weapons. Tolen plea-bargained with the district attorney’s office a couple months ago in return for a lighter sentence.

Tolen was sentenced in Palmer Superior Court Thursday.

Wilson’s case is set to go in front of a jury on December 22nd.

The 2 women charged with the robbery are scheduled for sentencing in January 2009.
