Coming up on KTNA
Six Minute Science this week is a rebroadcast from 2025 about arctic-breeding shorebirds, and features Shorebird Coordinator and Supervisory Biologist for the US Fish and Wildlife Service, Rick Lanctot. These shorebirds will be returning to Alaska over the next few weeks. Six Minute Science is produced by KTNA’s Jenny Willoughby and airs Saturdays at about 6:25pm, after Ag Matters and again Tuesdays at 12:30pm, after the midday news.
Last Tuesday, the 3rd graders from Talkeetna Elementary visited the KTNA studios to share stories about ‘A Dog I Know.‘ We’ve compiled their recordings into a special two-part series for Susitna Writer’s Voice. Tune into KTNA to hear the second part on Sunday after the 6pm announcements and Monday at 12:30pm, after the midday news. You can listen to both parts anytime at KTNA.org.
KTNA’s annual survey is open. Every year we reach out to collect your feedback on our programming. Your input helps to guide KTNA’s program schedule and content over the next year. Please take a few minutes to complete the survey by clicking on the link on our announcement page. You can also stop by the station during business hours for a printed copy.
We’re taking a trip down memory lane! KTNA is hosting a casual community gathering featuring a screening of the KTNA Millennium Concert from April 22, 2000. This footage was recently digitized, and we are excited to bring it back to the community 26 years after the original performance. We’ll be celebrating with a potluck, you are welcome to bring something to share… or just bring yourself! That’s from 7 to 9pm on Saturday, April 25th at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar. We look forward to sharing this blast from the past with you all!
