The Chase Community Council met Thursday evening to elect a board of directors and discuss upcoming issues that could turn into committee assignments.
The council has allowed for mail in votes and will not announce the board of directors until January 23rd when all absentee ballots legally will have been received.
The council briefly discussed railroad and trail issues and the recommended changes in the by laws. The most pressing discussion was weather conditions, which are causing difficult and hazardous travel in some areas on, and beyond, the Talkeetna River.
The council plans on meeting quarterly. Residents of the Chase area will be notified via email on election results. All council documentation has been sent to the Borough to advise them of the council’s re-activated status.
