H1N1 vaccine comes to Susitna Valley

The Sunshine Community Health Center, in conjunction with the Mat Su Public Health Center, is hosting a mass H1N1 vaccine dispensing clinic this Thursday.

The clinic will be at the Montana Creek Baptist Church at milepost 98.5 of the Parks Highway.  The state supply restrictions have been lifted and the vaccine is now available and free of charge for all interested residents in the northern valley over six months of age.  The clinic is scheduled for 1 pm to 6 pm.  It will be provided on a first come first served basis, while the vaccine lasts.

The seasonal flu vaccine will also be available upon request at the same clinic.

Any individual that has specific health care concerns and questions is encouraged to talk to their primary health care provider before getting the vaccines.

The vaccine is being transported from the lower Mat Su area, so sudden, severe winter weather conditions could change clinic day and time.

This event has been in the planning for several weeks and a number of local EMS volunteers will be on hand to assist in dispensing the vaccine.
