Skinner recommended for Mat Su Borough Parks, Trails and Rec Board

Mayor Talis Colberg has recommended resident James Skinner for the District 7 area seat on the Parks, Trails and Recreation Board.

Skinner lives in the Caswell Lakes area and was involved for a time with the Susitna Council, at that time called the Y Community Council.

Colberg has also suggested Wasilla resident David Noland for seat 3 on that Board.

Normally, applications are submitted, the mayor recommends the submittal and then the applicant is introduced to the Assembly. Appointments need to be approved by the Borough Assembly at their regularly scheduled meetings.  No one else in the upper valley has applied for that board seat.  According to the schedule, it is likely that the Assembly will vote on the applicants on May 17th.

A number of other boards have vacancies yet to be filled by upper valley residents:  the Health and Social Services Board, Talkeetna Sewer and Water Board, the Emergency Services Board and the Talkeetna Flood Control Service Board.
