DNR develops subdivision near Noel Wien Avenue

The State of Alaska’s Department of Natural Resources is in the process of developing a new subdivision at the end of Noel Wien Avenue. It is called Vita Alaska subdivision.Work has begun to construct a road leading to the yet undeveloped 40-acre subdivision. Plans are to divide the land into 10 lots.

A Fairbanks contractor began logging last week to widen the existing River Bottom Road and to cut a 900-foot road west into the subdivision.

DNR manager of land sales Kathryn Young told KTNA that once the road is in, the Mat-Su Borough needs to approve the road and then the plat. Then the parcels will go up for sale and most likely will be included in next DNR’s land sale auction in May 2011.
