Pariseau sentenced to 15 years in jail

Former Talkeetna resident William George Pariseau, age 67, was sentenced in federal court in Anchorage to 15 years in prison. Pariseau had been convicted of attempted possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.

Prior to imposing the sentence, Judge Ralph Beistline recognized the harm done to the community by the distribution of such a significant amount of methamphetamine.

Pariseau was arrested at Seattle International Airport in October 2008. Airport law enforcement officers observed that Pariseau was walking stiffly and appeared to have unnatural bulges under his pant legs. They searched Pariseau and found that he had 2.3 pounds of meth strapped to his legs with elastic bandages.

He was arrested, tried in Anchorage and sentenced on August 4.
