Wheatland takes first in Wilderness Woman’s contest

The 25th annual Wilderness Woman’s contest in downtown Talkeetna Saturday brought in over 20 contestants and more top winners than usual.

A special award went to past winner Liz Rumsey and her friend Callice Patton for participating year after year.  Tara Wheatland of Anchorage was crowned the winner with the fox hat grand prize.  Second place winner was Corinne Marzullo and third place was Sarah Badten.  Libby Park was also called to the stage as fourth place winner of the contest.

Alaska State Troopers report very little trouble in downtown Talkeetna over the Bachelor Auction weekend.  Trooper spokesperson Beth Ipsen says no extra forces were on duty for the weekend activities.

A debriefing and planning session for the bachelors is planned for Thursday at the Latitude.
