The Talkeetna Chamber of Commerce and others are already dealing with issues that usually don’t arise until May.
Chamber President Trisha Costello reports receiving phone call from Nagley’s manager Lorie Stec who said she is dealing with visitors in an RV plugged into the electricity at the Village Park.
Costello says the Chamber’s position is not to power up freeloaders. She says the Village Park Christmas tree is coming down quickly and locks will be installed on the electrical box at the Park again.
The RV parked next to the electrical box, plugged in and has been taking electricity from the Chamber of Commerce – the organization that pays the electric bills for the Village Park. The description of the two people in the RV is two young women with a small black dog that is not under voice control.
Stec says she simply is not ready to deal with the amount of problems that occurred in the Park last summer.
Several arrests were made in the Park last summer for trespassing and public intoxication as well as assault.
