The Mat Su Borough Assembly spent 3 hours on Tuesday evening in a discussion on ethics code. Almost all ordinance changes were postponed until next month.
Assemblyman Vern Halter had predicted lengthy discussion on both the ethics Board changes and the controversial change from title 27 to title 16, dealing with subdivisions.
Patty Sullivan, Borough spokesperson, says the meeting lasted until midnight and most of time was taken up arguing about the Borough’s volunteer Ethics Board and changes to the way ethics complaints are handled.
It was a packed house, with residents there to testify on ethics, on title 27, flood standards and mandatory land use permits.
The ethics board ordinances have been postponed until a work session on September 29th with a final vote scheduled for October 11th.
The discussion on Title 27 has been postponed until the September 29th meeting.
The votes on flood hazard areas and mandatory land use permits are now scheduled to take place in November.
