The first two weeks of Alaska’s warmest month are at a close, and so far, this July could end up in record books.
The National Weather Service has said that so far, the month of July is the coldest on record in South Central Alaska.
The Weather Service posted a graph to its facebook page, saying this month has been warmer in Barrow, on the Arctic coast, than it has been in Anchorage, 700 miles south.
National Weather Service Meteorologist Chris Burling says a low pressure system at high atmosphere has been lingering over the souther part of the state for quite some time.
