Governor Parnell has issued a condition of disaster for the Mat Su Borough, as well as the Kenai Borough and other unincorporated areas of Southcentral Alaska. In Talkeetna this evening, the Governor announced immediate resource assistance to the Mat Su Borough for emergency operations.
The State will contribute manpower to efforts to assist residents in evacuation, as well as assess current dangers and damage.
