Susitna River at Gold Creek to reach record height by Saturday

The Susitna river at Gold Creek north of Talkeetna is at minor flood stage and water continues to rise. Forecasts say the Susitna River at Gold Creek might reach record height of 18 feet by Saturday night. People living North of Talkeetna are urged to seek higher ground
The Talkeetna River above the railroad bridge is at 15.85 feet and continues to rise. This is the third highest water on record. Flooding in the Talkeetna River Subdivision is moderate.
The Talkeetna river below the bridge is 14.4 feet. Forecasts call for the Talkeetna River to crest by Friday night.
