Su Valley volleyball recovers from first-game loss, takes 4th at State

The Su Valley Rams Varsity Volleyball team won their final game in the State Championships, beating Unalaska to take the 4th place consolation game in the 2A final tournament.

Coach Chad Valentine says the first-game jitters of being at State Championshiops, combined with a tough competition in the opening game against Craig sank the team’s hopes for higher than fourth.


The Rams lost their opening match in the tournament to Craig, who whent on to play in the Championship game.  The Rams won the final two matches they played With their win on Saturday morning, the Rams equalled the 2004 and 2005 years record of taking 4th place in state.

Coach Valentine says that since none of the players are graduating out this year, he’s looking forward to their level of performance next season.


Serena Drover was awarded player of the game, and Emily Hartley was awarded state All-Tournament award.
