Self defense bill makes way through House

A bill that would expand the use of self-defense with the use of deadly force beyond a person’s home has advanced out of the House Finance Committee.

HP 24, the so-called “Stand-your-Ground” bill would modify existing statute to extend the right to defend oneself with deadly force to any place where that person has a right to be.  The Stand Your Ground bill has already passed the House Judiciary and is headed for a floor vote next.
