Hunter Discovers Decomposed Human Remains on the Susitna

Wednesday night, a moose hunter near Tyone Creek contacted the Alaska State Troopers after discovering a badly decomposed human body on the bank of the Susitna River.  The discovery occurred far upriver from Talkeetna, and northwest of Glenallen.   On Thursday, A Glenallen Trooper took a helicopter to the area and retrieved the body.

Troopers believe they know whose body it was that the hunter discovered, but have not released any names, pending confirmation of identity by the State Medical Examiner and notification of next-of-kin.
