A Jackknifed Methane Truck on the Parks Highway Results in no Injuries or Spill

On Thursday morning, Alaska State Troopers responded to reports of a semi that had gone off of the road near mile 215 of the Parks Highway. The 2001 Kenworth truck was carrying methane. The driver, Russell Bowman of Wasilla, says the truck began to drift, and his efforts to stabilize its path resulted in a jackknife. The truck and trailer rolled onto their side. The accident caused the Parks to be closed for about three hours. No methane has been reported spilled, and Troopers say that alcohol was not a factor in the accident.
