This portrait looking down on Saturn and its rings was created from images obtained by NASA’s Cassini spacecraft on Oct. 10, 2013.  Since Earth is always Sun-ward of Saturn, images like this, with broad shadows, can only be taken from a space probe. (Courtesy of NASA.gov, MISSIONS pages).
