This week, a new principal was chosen for Talkeetna Elementary School. After input from the community, and interviews with a team of district and school staff, as well as community members, Mat-Su School Superintendent Deena Paramo has chosen Lisa Shelby for the top spot at Talkeetna Elementary. Lisa Shelby most recently worked as the K-12 principal for the Lopez Island School District in Washington state. Shelby lived in Talkeetna in the past, and has also worked as a principal in Galena.
Superintendent Paramo is currently out of the state and unavailable for an interview.
