Troopers find missing hunter in Petersville area

The hunter who has been missing in the Petersville area since the weekend has been found alive, Alaska State Troopers say.

According to Megan Peters, spokeswoman for the troopers, an Alaska State Trooper helicopter spotted 49-year-old Charles Hull around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday.   Searchers on the ground were told where to find Hull, who was near the Kahiltna River and Hungryman Creek. Hull was transported for medical evaluation.

Charles Hull was reported missing on Saturday, and a search has been underway ever since. Early efforts were restricted to a ground search due to poor weather.

In Wednesday’s announcement the Alaska State Troopers credit Alaska Incident Management Team, MATSAR, Alaska Mountain Rescue Group, Alaska Search and Rescue Dogs, Petersville SAR Group, the Alaska Rescue Coordination Center and the Alaska National Guard for helping in the search and rescue.
