Local river levels returning to normal

After cresting on Monday, rivers in the Northern Susitna Valley have begun to recede.

As of Tuesday, the Talkeetna River at the railroad bridge and the Yentna River at Lake Creek were still at action stage, one level below minor flooding, but levels dropped significantly on Tuesday.

The Talkeetna River above the railroad bridge dropped nearly two feet between Monday and Tuesday, and the Susitna River and Montana Creek each saw their levels drop by about a foot.

According to the Alaska Pacific River Forecast Center, rivers are projected to continue dropping as the week goes on.
