Roger Robinson’s mountaineering passion led him to Talkeetna in 1980 to climb Denali. Little did he know then that he would call Talkeetna home and become a prominent Denali Parks Ranger. As a climber, Roger recognized early on the problem of trash left by climber on the mountain, and especially human waste. This week, Denali Ranger, Roger Robinson is traveling to Washington DC to receive a group award called the Wes Henry Excellence in Wilderness Stewardship Award presented by the National Park Foundation.

KTNA’s Katie Writer spoke with Roger as he was packing his bags for his trip.
