No serious injuries after Ruth Glacier helicopter accident

Note: Both Talkeetna Air Taxi and Sheldon Chalet are sponsors of KTNA programming.

Last Thursday, three people walked away from a helicopter accident on the Ruth Glacier.

Shortly after taking off from the Sheldon Chalet on Thursday, a Robinson 44, operated by Talkeetna Air Taxi, experienced difficulty on landing, ending up on its side.  According to the National Park Service, Chalet staff activated an emergency transmission after witnessing the accident. The request for assistance was canceled shortly thereafter, when it became clear that there were no life-threatening injuries.

The National Transporation Safety Board is investigating the accident.
