Fish and Game eases coho limit on Little Su

The Alaska Department of Fish and Game has raised the bag and possession limit of coho salmon on the Little Susitna River back to its customary two fish.

Earlier this month, Fish and Game reduced the limit on coho to one fish, citing low counts from counting weirs on the river.  In a statement Monday announcing the change, Area Biologist Sam Ivey says this year’s is coming in later than usual, but the numbers are picking up.  As of Monday, the sustainable escapement goal is expected to be reached for this year.
