Image on homepage is Venus nearing Regulus – Moving eastward through the stars at more than 1 degree per day, Venus is now well left/east of Regulus. This photo was taken on 10-2-20 at 6:50am, while Venus was less than 1/2 degree right/west of Leo’s brightest star.
The Moon moves eastward about 13 degrees per day. On 9/30 La Luna was well west of Mars. The two were closest behind clouds on 10/2. Then on 10/3 the Moon was east of Mars. The Red Planet’s color shows up better in a photo that is slightly out of focus.
