Troopers arrest Palmer man on road rage murder charges

Alaska State Troopers have arrested a Palmer man on murder charges following a shooting on Willow-Fishhook Road.

According to Troopers, 38-year-old Gavin Christiansen called dispatchers shortly before 9:00 pm on Sunday to report that he had been involved in a road rage incident with a firearm.

Troopers say the incident reportedly began when Christansen’s vehicle was struck by another vehicle in a gravel pit off Willow-Fishhook Road.  The other vehicle was driven by 35-year-old Devin Moorhouse of Anchorage.  Moorhouse drove away from the scene as Christiansen reportedly fired at the vehicle.  Troopers say Christiansen pursued Moorhouse for five miles, at which point Moorhouse crashed his vehicle.  At that point, Christiansen reportedly shot and killed Moorhouse while on the phone with dispatchers.

Troopers say a juvenile was in Moorhouse’s vehicle, but was uninjured.  Christiansen was arrested at the scene on charges of Murder in the First and Second Degrees.
