In addition to the borough’s elections on Tuesday, voters living within the Talkeetna Community Council boundaries voted for four council board members.
While all four candidates running were guaranteed a seat, there were some stakes involved, as the person receiving the fewest votes will not be getting a full term, but rather completing a term vacated earlier this year.
Jonathan Korta, TCCI board president, says 180 ballots were cast. Frannie Christiansen received the most votes with 151. Behind her were Krister Bowman with 143 votes, Jennifer Crosby with 139, and Jeffry Hesse with 131. Hesse will serve the one-year term before being up for election again next year. The other three will be seated for two years.
